PTSD, or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a mental health condition that can develop after going through or actually seeing a life-threatening event. It is normal to have upsetting memories, trouble sleeping, and getting back into the groove of life after a stressful event; but people can experience PTSD for a short period of time or over a lifetime, each experience is unique to the individual. PTSD affects our brains differently and sometimes it doesn’t appear until months or years after the event. Breeze is spotlighting PTSD Awareness Month to bring more attention to the effects PTSD can have on mental health and day to day life.
