PTSD, or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a mental health condition that can develop after going through or actually seeing a life-threatening event. It is normal to have upsetting memories, trouble sleeping, and getting back into the groove of life after a stressful event; but people can experience PTSD for a short period of time or over a lifetime, each experience is unique to the individual. PTSD affects our brains differently and sometimes it doesn’t appear until months or years after the event.
