rso: the miracle oil
Welcome to Concentrates 101! This week, we are spotlighting RSO! Continue reading to learn how it’s made, how you can consume, and even products we suggest if you decide to try it for yourself!
What is RSO?
RSO, or Rick Simpson Oil, was created by, you guessed it right- Rick Simpson! RSO is a very dark, thick cannabis extract that is created using the entire plant and does not use solvents, which allows RSO to have all of its precious cannabinoids, terpenes, and high concentrations of THC. Rick Simpson himself was diagnosed with cancer which inspired him to create RSO, and miraculously recovered from the grips of the disease. Although his claims have not been verified, RSO has helped patients and individuals manage conditions such as cancer, epilepsy, chronic pain, and more. It also can be used as a pain reliever, appetite stimulation, and a sleep aid as well!
How to Consume
RSO can be used orally or as a topical! Using orally, make sure the correct dosage is used. Most syringes have measurements on it, and if they don’t read the metric label on the packaging to make sure! Some individuals may even like to fill a capsule of RSO and take it like a vitamin instead! Some individuals even like to mix RSO into already cooked food and ingest it that way! If using as a topical, dose the same way you would orally, and then place on your skin and cover with a bandaid to assist in absorption. Since RSO is already activated, we do not recommend smoking or mixing with flower. Want to give it a try? Breeze recommends Dazed, or RISE! Dazed is complete RSO, but RISE is RSO+, which also contains Live Resin which may provide more strain specific effects and contain more cannabinoids and terpenes. Ask a budtender which one is best for you!
